Pune, February 22, 2011

Harbinger Group, the global provider of software products and services, today announced its plans to set up a software research and development facility under SEZ.  Having added more than 80 seats to its development center in Pune in the year 2010, Harbinger Group is set to cross 500 in employee strength by the end of the next fiscal year.

Harbinger continues to lead the eLearning domain with its foray in mobile learning. Recently Harbinger launched Raptivity, its flagship software product, on iPad, iPhone and Android powered mobile phones.

“We are excited to herald the arrival of cutting-edge interactive learning on mobile. Raptivity, the world’s first interactivity builder, is now on the mobile platform,” stated Vikas Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, Harbinger Group. “With mobility, everything in eLearning changes all over again. Mobile phones bring new population under the eLearning footprint that never had computers before. Mobile devices like tablets, smart-phones, e-book readers and media players open a wide range of delivery options. Finally, the unique capabilities of mobile devices allow you to make training location-aware, motion-sensitive, and two-way. The eLearning community cannot simply stand by and let these golden opportunities pass. Education will look different very soon.”

Venturing beyond eLearning,  Harbinger entered the interactive presentation market in 2009.  Its offerings - YawnBuster and Raptivity Presenter - have reported more than 8 growths this year.  These products take the conventional presentations to the next level.  They allow weaving of audience response in the presentation in real time.

Harbinger Group took the concept of interactivity another notch ahead with the recent launch of SiteJazzer. “Millions of websites and blogs are getting added on the Internet every year, and capturing and keeping visitor attention is becoming increasingly difficult for companies, bloggers and webmasters. SiteJazzer provides them with a way to jazz up their website in minutes,” said Vikas Joshi.  Advanced features - like animation with pictures, video and audio; creating 3-D flip-books and timers for count down – are considered the domain of specialist webmasters.  With SiteJazzer, these features can be deployed with few simple steps – without any need of programming.

Speaking about the intellectual property driving the innovative products, Vikas Joshi informed that the technology behind Raptivity, which completed 5 years of market domination, has been allowed a U.S. patent this year.  This being Harbinger’s second U.S. patent among several pending filings.
Harbinger’s eLearning products - Elicitus and Raptivity - are being used by the leading universities, government agencies and the corporate users worldwide. Recently Gensco, a HVAC distribution company with 26 stores in 5 U.S. states, reported development of 250 courses for 20,000 Gensco attendees using Elicitus and Raptivity.

“Harbinger’s eLearning products have shown phenomenal global appeal and have users in 57 countries today,” said Vikas Joshi.  He further added that a Korean version of Elicitus has been recently released.
